Meet Rebecca Lopez, Law Clerk in Melbourne, FL

Rebecca joined Slonim Law in March 2026 as a Law Clerk, focusing on the firm’s guardianship cases. Prior to joining the firm, Rebecca worked with public interest organizations focused on human rights, ranging from women and children’s rights, domestic violence, LGBTQIA+, rights, and assisting other marginalized groups have greater support and visibility in the community.

Rebecca recently graduated from FAMU Law, earning her Juris Doctor degree. She also holds a Master of Library Science from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Flagler College. A second generation, Spanish speaking Puerto Rican-American raised in Miami, Rebecca has a deep love for the outdoors (especially when the weather is warm), whether that means hiking, heading to the beach, or paddle boarding. When she’s not outside, she can almost always be found with a book in hand. At home, she and her wife are kept on their toes by two dogs and two cats who can often be found howling, sleeping, or doing whatever they please. Her wife, a devoted FSU fan, would argue that Rebecca, a diehard Miami Hurricanes fan, keeps her equally on her toes come college football season.
